Desperate neighbors threw buckets of water to try and put out the flames after the blaze began in Hampstead Marina in Kent. Multiple boats in the River Medway were on fire and smoke could be seen pouring from one vessel close to the lock. The river was closed to traffic. Three fire engines and a bulk water carrier were called to the scene to help extinguish the blaze. Two people were treated by paramedics and taken to the hospital; one suffered burns while the other was treated for smoke inhalation, the fire brigade said....

This is a true-to-form remake that largely honors the source material in a way that’s applaudable – albeit in a way that comes across as a little dated on occasion. The waves of Mario & Luigi titles that have released since this title kickstarted the franchise have done little to innovate the series in meaningful ways, and as a result this turn-based formula (renowned for its timed button presses for those keen on doling out extra damage) feels like more of the same....

The trailer in question claims that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is the biggest Mario Kart game yet, and Nintendo doesn’t spare any time before getting into the details. One of these efforts is the Hyper Strike. Longtime Mario Strikers fans likely Super Strikes and Mega Strikes from previous games, which were empowered shots that captains could perform to try to earn additional points for their team. The Hyper Strike is largely based on these techniques, but comes with a little more flexibility. It remains to be seen if Mario Strikers: Battle League’s Hyper Strike lives up to the franchise’s previous mechanics, but it’s at least good to see that Nintendo and Next Level Games are eager to innovate....

Zack Cozart was initially ruled out by home plate umpire Mike Winters on the play at the plate.
