The study was published Tuesday in the journal World Psychiatry and focused on COVID-19 “breakthrough” infections in fully vaccinated people diagnosed with substance use disorder (SUD), a condition that involves uncontrolled dependence on substances including marijuana, alcohol, cocaine, opioids and tobacco. While breakthrough infections were seen in 3.6 percent of vaccinated people without SUD, the study found that 7 percent of those with SUD had breakthrough infections. At 7.8 percent, the risk of breakthrough infections was highest among those with marijuana use disorder....

During a showcase packed with major announcements from Nintendo’s third-party developers, Ubisoft showed off the Mario + Rabbids sequel. The presentation showcased Mario + Rabbids’ new free-roam strategy style as well as new techniques players could use in battle. The trailer concluded by confirming Sparks of Hope’s October 20th release date, as well as revealing more information to come during Ubisoft’s own presentation the following day. That could mean the trailers are leaked or edited from another source. Either way, they provide a great look at Mario Kart 8 Deluxe’s Battle mode game types. The five game modes shown in the videos for the upcoming Nintendo Switch title include: Balloon Battle, Bob-omb Blast, Coin Runners, Renegade Round-up, and Shine Thief....

That being said, as soon as rumors about Mario Kart 9 started spreading, the February 9 Nintendo Direct possibly crushed hopes of such a game actually being in development. For the first time since it ported Mario Kart 8 to the Switch, Nintendo will add content to the game. Indeed, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will get a set of downloadable waves of tracks. By the time the wave ends, there will be 48 new tracks in total....

A Nintendo crossover racing game using the Mario Kart banner sounds like tons of fun, and it makes sense too. Recent Mario Kart games have already featured guests from other Nintendo properties like The Legend of Zelda and Animal Crossing. If Nintendo intends to ramp up its number of guests, however, it should be careful not to scrap too many known Mario Kart characters to make room for other faces of Nintendo....
