The 2.2.1 update is one of several updates to come to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe this year. According to Nintendo Customer Support, the two issues being fixed will be focusing on bugs found in the racetracks Berlin Byways and London Loop. In Berlin Byways, players will no longer deal with image issues while playing the game online. While racing on the London Loop track, players will also be returned to the correct starting point when falling off the track.

In order to download the update for the game, players only have to follow a few simple steps. Players must first make sure that their Nintendo Switch is connected to the internet. After the console is connected to the internet, all that needs to be done is to launch the game from the home menu and the update download will start automatically. It may not be as exciting of an update as the one earlier this month that finally allowed Mario Kart 8 Deluxe players to customize their items, but it serves as a needed improvement for some pesky in-game bugs.

There is no doubt that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is one of the most successful games the Nintendo Switch has to offer in its massive catalogue of titles. With constant updates targeted to improve the game for many players, Nintendo has shown that it has every intention to continue to create a great online racing experience for fans of the franchise. From everything to track DLCs to bug fixes, the dedicated player base behind the success of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has been the cornerstone of keeping the game growing, which has allowed for so much new content and updates. The new content and improvements are one of the many reasons Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has been one of the Nintendo Switch’s most successful properties.
