Double delight for Borussia Dortmund fans. Borussia Monchengladbach have confirmed that starlet Marco Reus will join the defending Bundesliga champions in the summer. Also, Dortmund’s general manager Michael Zorc has made it clear that Gotze will not be leaving the club this summer.
The 19 year old highly rated playmaker Mario Gotze was being heavily linked with a move away from the German giants, with European heavyweights Real Madrid, Manchester United and Arsenal rumored to be interested in the player. Responding to the reports that Dortmund would allow Gotze to leave for an astronomical sum of £50million, Michael Zorc said:
Meanwhile, Die Borussens have added another young talent to their ranks by snapping up Marco Reus from Borussia Monchengladbach. The highly rated 22 year old German international will join the Bundesliga champions in the summer and will be under a contract till 2017.
General manager Michael Zorc expressed his delight at signing the youngster. He told the club’s official website:
The player himself is excited by the prospect of playing for the champions and is already looking forward to face new challenges. Reus said:
“But I’ve decided that in the coming season, I’ll take the next step and play for a club that contends for the championship and gives me the guarantee to play in the Champions League. This is an opportunity I see in Dortmund.”
